I know Mothers day has come and gone, but Brian and I were reminded this week that our love should be expressed everyday not only to our mothers, but to our God. Each new day that God has given us with our mothers is a blessing, and I must admit I have greatly taken this truth for granted. On Monday and Tuesday of this week we had a showing and a funeral for a dear saint and wonderful friend in our church. She was close to the age of both of our mothers and had been battling breast cancer for a very short time. Last week she went into the hospital because she thought she was getting an infection and they gave her only days to live. I stayed home with Ally while Brian and his mom attended the showing on Monday. While waiting in line they were approached by Kevin (the son of the mom who passed). He had recognized that the two of them were mother and son and wanted to share his heart. He told Brian with passionate words to hug his mother and never go a day without thanking God for the gift of her love. As I sat at the funeral on Tuesday with Brian and my mom, that simple truth wouldn't leave my thoughts. Thank you Jesus for our mothers and the gift of their love not only in our lives, but in the lives of our children. Brian and I can't wait for Allyson and Blake to grow older and truly understand the love that our mom's have for them and the love they have for our God.
We Love you Moms!
