Last Saturday our family spent part of the day at the ball park watching our nephew Marcus play in a baseball tournament. Marcus plays second base for the Speedway Sparkplugs. I enjoyed sitting next to my mother-in-law and watching how nervous she gets for her grand son. This strikes up a great conversation amongst the brothers about how mom (Ruth) was always the encourager and cheerleader at their football and baseball games. Dad (Ron) on the other hand would tell them how it was from the stands. Reminiscing with the Bostons always leads to some fun and entertaining stories...haha!
Just a couple of weeks ago, Marcus hit a home run in his game against Roncalli . Brian and I were bummed we missed it, but we were able to see him hit a triple this last weekend. He was first up to bat in the last inning. We were down by one when he nearly hit the ball over the fence. He slid into third safely and his teammate hit him home to make it a tie game. Speedway went on to win that game and then proceeded to go on and win the entire tournament. We are proud of you Marcus!
