Tuesday, July 15th

This will be the last picture taken of our family with just the three of us. At our doctors appointment today (five days past my due date) we were a little bummed to find out that nothing has changed. I am still 2 cm and 50% effaced. Due to mental and physical exhaustion we opted to have Dr. Case break my water tomorrow morning at 8:00. Brian and I are both extrememly excited and we can't wait to see our baby boy. Please keep us in your prayers tomorrow. I would like to have as little medical intervention as possible, specifically pitocin (a drug that helps your body to speed up contractions). They only use this drug if your body isn't contracting on it's own. Once they brake my water, if I don't start contracting within a long period of time they will have to give me pitocin since Blake has to be born within a 24 to 48 hour time frame. I was given this drug when I was laboring with Allyson and it made for some extremely painful contractions. I am anxious to see if labor without pitocin will be a little less stressful on my body.
Brian and I are off to bed and anxious for the plans the Lord has for us on Tuesday, July 15th.
Lord willing, the next blog we post will be of our new baby boy.

Camping Out

I had my 40 week doctors appointment today and it looks like Blake will be camping out for a little while longer. I am only 2 cm dilated and still 50% effaced. I asked my doctor to strip my membranes, but it was unsuccessful because his head is still positioned high. I have another appointment scheduled for Monday the 14th. If things aren't moving along we will probably set an induction date.
We keep telling Allyson that she is going to have a baby brother soon, but I think she has lost all hope. I started packing our bags for the hospital a month ago. In the mean time Brian has needed some of his clothes, so now his bag is empty for the second time. I have come to the conclusion that we won't be packing for him until it is clear that this baby is coming.

I am having some very intense braxton hicks today due to my exam, but I am not getting my hopes up until they take my breath away or the inevitable (my water brakes). We will try to keep everyone posted. I won't have access to a computer in the hospital, so I will not be able to post any updates or pictures until we get home with our baby boy. Hopefully sooner than later.

PS. Thank you to all who have voted on Blake's weight poll. I hope some of you are wrong with the 9 lbs. and above. That will make for one eventful labor and delivery if you are right!

While we are waiting.....

My Mom, Dad, Brian, and I were all talking the other night about the size of Blake. We decided to write down an estimated weight and see who will come the closest. Mom said " 8lbs. 10oz" Dad - "8lbs. 2oz." Brian - "9lbs" and I said "8lbs. 6oz.".

We would love to have you join in on our guessing game. You can either leave a comment or place a vote on the poll.

We also took a vote on what date we thought Blake would decide to come. Here are the results.

Dad- Saturday, 7/12; Mom- Tuesday, 7/8; Brian- Friday, 7/11; and Lisa- Thursday, 7/10

Now we just have to wait and see!

39 weeks

Well I had my weekly doctors appointment today and I was unsettled to find out that nothing has changed. I am now back down to 1 cm dilated (which I didn't know was possible) and still 50% effaced. Dr. Case said that his head is still up high and that he might just take his good old time coming out. I found out that last week my doctor was on vacation, but she just took off to get some things done around the house. She said she was ready and waiting for my phone call everyday. That was reassuring to know. My doctor did inform me that she will be out of town on the 4th of July so she won't be able to deliver me if Blake decides to make his grand entrance this Friday. We had a full week of VBS last week which kept me extra busy and kept my mind off of the waiting game. My busy schedule helped me sleep better at night, but didn't help so much with my swollen feet and ankles. Other than that I feel great. I am still battling the immense craving for something chocolate everyday. I think Blakes first words will be...Chocolate Please..haha.
To all of our friends and family. We have a nasty virus on our computer and I am having an extremely hard time getting rid of it. I will do my best to keep this blog updated once Blake gets here, but I can't make any promises. We are doing our best to get rid of the virus, but until it is gone there is no telling what this computer will and won't let me do.
