Size Difference

While going through some of my pictures I couldn't help but post two photos I found of Allyson and Blake. They were both taken exactly 48hours after their birth. This really shows the difference in my childrens size.

I got a kick out of the fact that Ally looks like she doesn't have any legs and Blakes legs are more than half way to the end of the car seat.

From the Dome to the Luc!

On Sunday they opened the new Lucas Oil stadium for all season ticket holders to tour. My dad and mom shared two of their tickets with Brian to celebrate his birthday. We said goodbye to the RCA Dome and hello to the new enormous Lucas Oil Stadium. The size of this facility is unreal. Thank you dad and mom for giving us the oppurtunity to be able to see the stadium in a way you won't ever get to again. The pictures below just don't give it justice.

I couldn't pass up getting a picture of my dad with his new favorite toy. He bought a dixie chopper last month for business and now he can't wait to find an opportunity to mow the lawn and grunt like Tim "the toolman" Taylor...haha

This isn't a very clear picture, but they built 8 opened up suites at one end of the field. They are level with the endzone and only about 20 feet from all of the action. I am sure those are the suites that cost about $200,000 a year.

Our family (especially my husband) are excited to get this new colts season off and running. We love getting friends and family together after church and having football parties where ever we can have them. Winter just isn't the same in our house once the season is over. My husband annoyingly keeps reminding me of how many more days before the first season game starts. Last night he had to work late and he made sure to pock his head back in the house before he left to remind me that there was a football game on Fox 59 just in case I got bored. I just rolled my eyes as he laughed back at me. He knows that I am preparing myself to have to watch ESPN exclusively for the next 4 months.

The Boston Boys and 1 month Check-up

Last week Brian and I watched our 3 nephews for the weekend while Mike and Dawn were out of town. We had an eventful and enjoyable time hanging out with the boys for a couple of days. Blake has a lot to look forward to when he is old enough to rough around with his cousins. Joshua who is 5 yrs. old (almost 6) lost his first tooth while we were watching him. Uncle Brian told him to chew some gum and it would probably come out, but he wasn't to sure he liked the idea of his tooth yanking out. He just waited until it fell out on its own the next day.

Joshua also started flag football this year so we told him he is going to have to teach his baby cousin how to play when he gets older.

Blake had his 1 month well baby check-up and here are his new stats.

Weight: 11lbs. 12 oz. 90%

Height: 23.5 in. 96%

My little baby isn't so little anymore. He is growing so fast. I can't believe the changes that are coming on so quickly. I am doing my best at writing every memory down this time so Brian and I won't ever forget our love for Blake at each new stage of his life. Oh we just can't get enough of this boy! I love him more and more everyday!!!!!!!

First 3 Weeks

These last 3 weeks have been a battle against time. There just isn't enough time in a day to get everything done. This explains why it has been a couple of weeks since I have last blogged. I just decided this week that I have to take a nap when Ally sleeps. The night feedings have started to catch up to me and I can feel my eyes begin to burn around lunch time.

Adding Blake to our family has been nothing but pure joy. Brian and I went for a walk with our children last night and I told him that having a second child has encouraged me as a wife and a mother. It is so amazing to know that I have a little boy and girl who need me for their physical, mental, and spiritual health. Sometimes I doubt myself, and then I am reminded of who I am in Christ and the abilities He has given me as a wife and a mother. This is what motivates me on the days that I just don't think I am doing enough.

Blake has been a wonderful newborn. Such a change from having a preemie. We are still working on a better sleeping pattern during the day. He likes to sleep for about 5 hours straight in the day. I need to try to get him to do that at night. He is currently waking about every 3 hours in the evening. He definately hasn't had a problem with eating. At birth he weighed 8lbs. 13oz. and when he left the hospital he weighed 8lbs. 9oz. Five days later at his first doctors appointment he weighed in at 9lbs. 7 oz. He has his one month check-up on Monday and I am guessing he is tipping the scale at about 11.5lbs. to 12lbs. Here are some pictures of our son over the last 3 weeks.
